This book of well known and not so well known tips was interesting. I hoped it would be a insider of how to's of high fashion, and I guess that's their selling point, but it was more down to earth than I thought.
Some random tips I haven't heard of and want to try:
- Have 2 glasses of water in the morning before breakfast to wake up and hydrate your body.
- It takes 7 - 8 weeks to break down cellulite. They have some more great info so I'll make a whole post about it.
- The skin is warmer during sleep and absorbs more skincare products so load on a night cream packed with vitamins.
- The sun damages hair as much as it damages skin.
- Your hair should be completely soaked for at least 30 seconds before you shampoo.
- Intensive conditioner is every gloss haired girl secret weapon.
- First used in black and white hollywood films, they say putting vaseline over eye shadow or by itself on eyelids as a good party look.
- Apply mascara to the ends of lashes, not the base (which is what I thought) because it can create spider lashes (as I have).
- To look good in photos, look relaxed and natural as if your smiling at a friend.
- Weekly soak feet in hot water (not scalding) with aromatic oils for 10 minutes, then scrape with a pumice stone or foot file.
- Rub vaseline into nails before you go to sleep for stronger healthier nails and weekly soak in warm almond oil.
I can't wait to try these tips! I'll try and keep you updated on the outcomes.
Also, I'm really into natural home made products at the moment and I found this great blog filled with recipes packed with skin loving goodness!
